What is Business Continuity Management?

Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a management process that identifies risk, threats and vulnerabilities that could impact an entity’s continued operations and provides a framework for building organizational resilience and the capability for an effective response. This usually involves protections such as a disaster recovery plan.

3. Plan Development – create a detailed process of disaster recovery procedures that is clearly outline and organized for fast resolution. A poorly organized plan will only slow down the recovery process. Once the plan is created be sure and run it by the team of individuals that you interviewed and get their approval.

4. Testing & Exercises – it’s always a good idea to actually test your plan during a non-critical time to make sure it will actually work and document your test results. After testing make notes of improvements and any other information that might be helpful for further improvement of your Business Continuity Plan
