The Infrastructure Behind Hotel Connectivity: A Look at HTS’s 2025 Impact
Reliable connectivity has become a foundational part of the modern hotel experience. Guests expect seamless WiFi whether they are working from their rooms, attending conferences, or relaxing in public spaces throughout the property. Delivering that level of performance requires extensive planning, installation, and infrastructure that often goes unnoticed by the end user.
Our partner, Hospitality Technical Services (HTS), recently shared a look at the scale of work completed in 2025 to support hotel connectivity across hundreds of properties. The numbers highlight just how much infrastructure is required to keep hotels connected and running smoothly.
The Scale of Connectivity
In 2025, HTS supported 285 hotel properties through deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure builds designed to deliver reliable connectivity for guests and staff.
Across those properties, the team installed:
- 13,697 guest room access points connecting thousands of hotel rooms
- 1,597 public space access points supporting lobbies, restaurants, meeting rooms, and conference areas
- 2,365 Cat6 cable runs forming the backbone of property networks
- 87 fiber cable runs enabling high-speed connectivity throughout hotel environments
- 159 properties heat mapped to optimize wireless coverage and performance
Building the Network Foundation
Behind every reliable hotel network is a significant amount of infrastructure that guests rarely see.
During 2025 deployments, HTS completed:
- 403 IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) builds
- 180 MDF (Main Distribution Frame) buildouts
- 630 IDF switches installed
- 463 MDF switches installed
- 70 new network racks installed
These installations form the core infrastructure that allows access points, switches, and cabling systems to work together as a unified network across an entire property.
Delivering the Connectivity Guests Expect
While guests simply expect their WiFi to work, delivering consistent performance across a hotel environment requires careful design, precise installation, and ongoing support. From planning wireless coverage to building out network rooms and installing thousands of access points, the work behind the scenes is extensive.
HTS’s 2025 accomplishments demonstrate the scale of effort required to power hospitality connectivity across hundreds of properties.
At TekConcierge, we value partnerships with teams that bring deep technical expertise and a commitment to delivering reliable technology solutions for the hospitality industry. The work completed by HTS this year highlights the level of coordination and infrastructure needed to support hotel operations and the guest experience.
Reliable connectivity is no longer optional in hospitality, it is essential infrastructure that supports everything from guest satisfaction to operational efficiency.
